BJP issues gag order for motormouth netas, says stop taking nonsense

254

Aiming 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has issued a gag order to all the states offices a couple of weeks ago that no politician or lawmaker would comment on speculative story/ies. With leaders becoming motormouth and commenting on speculative stories, the party do not want them to lose their vote bank and credibility that they have built over the last four years.

Confirming the news, a credible party source exclusively informed The Live Mirror,  that such a gag order has been issued. He further said that though the politicians are barred from making controversial statements, but they have been allowed to speak on social issues and highlight the good works done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP-led State governments.

Giving more information, the source requesting anonymity said, “All the leaders have actually been directed not to speculate anything and create an unnecessary controversy. They can speak on the socio-political angle of the schemes that have been done, which includes social audit report, whether the schemes have actually impacted among others. ”

He added, “… even if they want to make statements, as public representatives, it has to be on social issues. Social schemes, and central schemes, which have helped people needs to be highlighted and leaders have been told to do so.”

With leaders and politicians – like Subramanian Swamy, Anant Kumar Hegde, Giriraj Singh, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Dilip Ghosh, Gyandev Ahuja, Surendra Singh, Ratan Lal Nath and others – becoming motormouth and hampering the reputation of the party, the gag order seems to restrict them from making insensible comments. It would be interesting to see how things turn out, as effect has been observed yet.

Be it Ratan Lal Nath in Tripura or Arjun Ram Meghwal in Rajasthan or Dilip Ghosh in West Bengal, all have made controversial comments on mob lynching. Leading the chart are Ghandev Ahuja and Surendra Singh, who with their ‘gyan’ (knowledge), taught India how women should behave and what should they wear to not get raped. Though the gag order has been issued, it would be interesting to see how things turn out, as no effect has been observed yet, even after weeks of its issuance.
