Monsoon Session: NaMo seeks disruption free debate on ‘No-Trust Motion’, RaGa not in mood

The monsoon has arrived in India, and along with national capital, the entire country is going to fell the heat on Friday. As the Monsoon Session of the Parliament enters third day, and the both House accepting opposition’s demands of ‘No-Trust Motion’, heated arguments will make new headlines. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has requested MPs to ensure constructive, comprehensive and disruption free debate, but Rahul Gandhi is in no mood to do this.

In an appeal to the fellow parliamentarians, PM Modi wrote on Twitter, “Today is an important day in our Parliamentary democracy. I’m sure my fellow MP colleagues will rise to the occasion and ensure constructive, comprehensive&disruption free debate. We owe this to the people and the makers of our Constitution. India will be watching us closely.”

The parliament has allotted only 38 minutes for the Congress to take on BJP government during the ‘No-confidence motion’. Its is likely to be expected that party president Rahul Gandhi will come up with his firey speech and start the session. Earlier Congress MP Shashi Tharoor too was seen excited with party’s preparations and tweeted, “Good to see it’s not only @INCIndia that’s preparing for the no-confidence debate tomorrow!”

Among others, AIADMK, TMC, BJD, TRS parties have been allotted 29, 27, 15 and 9 minutes respectively. However, the ruling BJP has been allotted 3 hours and 33 minutes. It has been revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at the last.

Though the premier’s appeal might sympathise some of his allies and wins their trust vote, but the leaders from opposition parties have prepared their bullet points.Calling this an an opportunity to ‘Gherao’ the BJP-led Union government for being accountable their failure to address various issues, CPI(M) leader from Rajya Sabha Sitaram Yechury wrote on twitter, “No-confidence motions are moved to make a govt that refuses to be accountable, accountable. Modi’s reply to this, will not answer a single question raised by the Opposition nor address the woes of the people. It will be the launch of yet another set of Jumlas. This will not wash.”

Looking at the prospects of BJP getting a trust vote is likely to be sorted. AIADMK and TRS have extended their support to BJP, while BJD, Shiv Sena and TMC have not decided as of yet which side to support.  The motion moved by the TDP, which was approved in the Parliament on Wednesday.
