PM Modi accuses Cong of neglecting farmers for 70 years
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed Kisan Kalyan Rally at Malout in Muktsar district of Punjab; says his government is working towards doubling farmers income by 2022.
Speaking at the rally in Malout, the Prime Minister showcased the recent Centre’s decision to hike the Minimum Support Price (MSP), which he claimed was done to alleviate the sufferings of the farmers. This visit gains significance as the government recently hiked MSP for Kharif crops.
Senior SAD leaders Parkash Singh Badal and Sukbir Singh Badal, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur, as well as Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar shared the stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking at the thanksgiving rally for farmers Narendra Modi hit out at the Congress party for making false promises for deacades together. He said that the party simply treated farmers as a vote bank. The entre top brass of the Akali Dal-BJP leadership were, PM Modi tore into the policies of the previous Congress government blaming them for the farmers woes.
Prime Minister said that it was his government was working towards doubling farmers income by 2022. He said that be it farmers tilling the land or soldiers protecting the nation, his government is committed to upholding their dignity.
PM Modi also spelt out the benefits of the recent decision on MSP. He said that it will benefit Pattidars as well as land owning farmers.
