Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged people to switch off lights at their homes and light lamps, candles to “challenge the darkness spread by the corona crisis”. This initiative was to mark solidarity in the country’s fight against coronavirus. This was the second such mass activity undertaken by the citizens of the country after PM Modi’’s March 22 Janta curfew initiative. Prominent Celebrities from the South film industry took part in the same with dedication. Mahesh Babu, Rajinikanth, Allu Arjun and many more led the way.
Megastar Rajinikanth, at the stroke of 9 pm, was seen standing at the gate of his residence and holding a candle in his hand. He was accompanied by his wife Latha Rajinikanth.
Mahesh Babu tweeted: “9 pm 9 minutes. Light for India. Stay home stay safe.”
Superstar Chiranjeevi too did the same,

The South stars also asked their fans to stay indoors and follow the rules set by the government They have also been donating generously to the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala to fight the war against Coronavirus.
