9 Baje 9 Minute: Alia Bhatt And Ranbir Kapoor Light Candles Of Hope

One of Bollywood’s favorite couple, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, have been together for a long time. The duo has been subject to everything from breakup to wedding rumors. However, Alia and Ranbir have been spending some time together while the country is under a lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The nation surged to respond to PM Narendra Modi’s request to light up diyas or candles or just flash the mobile lights as a symbol of solidarity at 9 PM for 9 minutes. Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were no different as they lit a candle together to symbolize hope during the coronavirus outbreak.

Sharing a picture of the candles, Alia Bhatt also shared a message of hope with her Instagram followers. She wrote:

“When I was younger I would kiss my dad on his forehead before going off to school and after every kiss he would say “ Aaaaaah .. light aa gayi “ I might have not fully understood what it meant back then.. but because of his response I understood that light has wayyyyyy more depth than just illuminating our lives. Light means so much. It’s hope, beauty, strength.. today it was unity.. But no matter where we are and what we are going through we must always try and keep the light within us alive.”

While the response to the 9 Baje 9 Minute has been positive throughout the country, fires broke out near Solapur Airport Area and Jaipur to dampen the spirits. Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi himself lit a lamp to mark India’s fight against COVID-19.
