A 28-year-old man from Jalandhar, Punjab was shot dead by four attackers in his shared apartment in Ontario (Canada) on Tuesday.
Palwinder Singh Vicky was shot outside his shared apartment at Brampton city in Ontario. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared brought dead. Vicky’s family said that two of the assailants were arrested by the police immediately after the incident, but the other two are still at large.
Vicky’s father, Gurmej Singh, who is a retired assistant sub-inspector (ASI) from Punjab Police, said, “The Canadian police is are yet reveal the cause of the attack.”

He added that Vicky was planning to visit their newly-built house in India in November. Vicky had moved to Canada in 2010 to pursue a diploma in business management after clearing his Class 12 exams.
“Vicky had celebrated his birthday on July 15. We were planning his wedding during his visit in November,” said Gurmej.
He has appealed to the state and Centre to help bring their son’s last remains back. “I am not aware of the procedure but have requested the Union and Punjab government to help us bring my son’s body back,” he said.
Vicky’s sister, Jaswinder Kaur, who resides in Canada, is taking care of the legal procedure of bringing Vicky’s mortal remains back.
Jalandhar (central) Congress MLA Rajinder Beri assured the family that the state government will take up the matter with the central government and provide every possible help to the family.
In this case, two accused from Mississauga, Sean Ponto (18) and Andrew Edward (19), have been arrested for the first-degree murder, while the police are still searching for the other 2 accused.
