Munna Kumar a young man living in Agra killed himself while he was live on Facebook, his friends watching this tried to stop him, but Munna did not respond, news agency ANI reported.
According to reports, Munna was trying to join the Indian Army since he was 17 but had not been successful after many tries, he was worried about exceeding the age limit.The 24-year-old was a BSc graduate. He got depressed by the outcome and decided to end his life.
When everyone at home were sleeping on Tuesday night, he went live on Facebook and took his life by hanging himself. A two page note was found in his room where he apologised to his parents and described his struggles in details, at the end of the letter he wrote “Jai Hind”.
Munna’s family members are devastated by his death. The police have sent his body for an autopsy and they are also investigating the live streaming he posted on Facebook before he died. Early on Wednesday morning
he shared a 1:09 minute long video of his confession on Facebook before hanging himself on live video.
According to a Times of India report, Munna had shared a ‘confession video’ on Tuesday night. Later, he started live-streaming his suicide.
Kumar’s family told the newspaper that they had no idea he was having suicidal thoughts.
His younger brother, Vikas Kumar, said, “Hours before committing suicide, he was normal. We had dinner together. No one in the family had any idea that he was going to commit suicide.”
Even though over 2,750 people watched the live video, nobody raised an alarm or alerted his family members.
