Champions League Draw: Ronaldo to face Manchester United; Liverpool in group of death

Cristiano Ronaldo will head to Old Trafford, while Paul Pogba returns to Lady Turin when Manchester United and Juventus clash against each other in the group stage of the Champions League. Completing Group H are La Liga side Valencia and Switzerland team Young Boys.

Ronaldo, who guided Manchester United to their last Champions League victory in 2008 before joining Real Madrid in the next year, recently signed for Serie A giants Juventus after winning a record four UCL trophies with Real.

Of those four crown victories, one came against his present side in the 2016-17 final. Ronaldo, who scored that night to guide his former club to the trophy will aim to end Old Lady’s 23-year wait for a major European trophy.

Meanwhile, Real with their most recent UCL final victory over Liverpool became the first side under Zinedine Zidane to win three successive Champion Trophy. They have been paired in Group G alongside AS Roma, CSKA Moscow, Viktoria Plzen.

Last season’s runner-up Liverpool have been placed in the group of death and will face French Champions Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli, and Red Star Belgrade in both home and away matches.

Another group that comes somewhat close to being called the group of death is group B where La Liga giants Barcelona have been paired with Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan, and PSV Eindhoven.
