An 11-year-old boy allegedly stole Rs 20 lakh from a branch of the Punjab National Bank (PNB) in Jind, Haryana. The boy along with another person walked into the bank branch and allegedly fled with bundles of cash. The bank’s cashier (PNB bank) has filed an FIR in this case.
As reported by sources to Times Now, The two accused were identified as Manowar and Ravinder. On the day of the incident, the boy entered the PNB branch located in front of the District Rural Development Agency in Jind. When the cashier left his cabin, the 11-year-old boy allegedly stepped inside and took away the bundles of cash kept in his bag.
Sources added, The robbery came to light when the staff was counting the money. A discrepency of 20 lakh was found. On checking the CCTV footage they noticed a 10-11-year-old child entered the cabin as soon as the cashier left the cabin and put five bundles of 2000 rupees on the table in a bag. He walked out of the bank without raising suspicion. All this was done within a time span of 20 seconds.
Vishvajit Sinha, the bank manager said that the boy stole four bundles of Rs 5 lakh each and fled. He added that as the bank was overcrowded on the day of the incident, the cashier forgot to lock his cabin while stepping out.
The boy was seen handing over the cash to a masked youth and then they both fled the scene of crime. Police is investigating the case and are on the lookout for the two.
