The best reality show proposals, like those on-screen scripted ones, will forever make us swoon and hopeful that our faves will be together until the end. Some people ship couples more than others, but there’s no denying that the on-screen couple’s happiness makes you just a little bit happy as well. From viewing their best moments to being with them during their lowest lows, these reality TV viewers have definitely gotten swept up in the romance of it all.

While some of the couples below had the most swoon-worthy proposals, not all of them had picture-perfect endings, but we still keep coming back to their fairytale-like proposals.
1. Kashmira Shah and Krushna Abhishek
Krushna Abhishek went down on his knees and popped the question to his long-time beau Kashmira Shah after dancing to One, two three four from Chennai Express. He also promised her that they will get married in the next six months.
2. Karishma Tanna and Upen Patel
The two started dating in 2014 on the season eight of reality show Bigg Boss 8. They got engaged last year, when Patel proposed to the actress on dance show Nach Baliye 7, where they were participants. The couple also hosted reality show, MTV Love School when they turned love gurus for the contestants. They parted ways after two years of being together.
3. Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey
On stage, Ravi went down on his knees and proposed in typical filmy style with a solitaire ring, in the presence of both sets of families on stage. Ravi Dubey proposed to longtime girlfriend Sargun Mehta on the sets of dance reality show Nach Baliye-5. Ironically, the proposal took place on the day the couple performed a break-up act on the song Jeeyen kyun from the movie Dum Maaro Dum. They got married by the end of 2013.
4. Asha Negi and Rithvik Dhanjani
Small screen actor Rithvik Dhanjani went down on his knees and poured his heart out to his girlfriend, actress Asha Negi, on a public platform on the celebrity couple dance reality show “Nach Baliye 6”. According to sources, the actor sang a song for her. The romantic bit was that he had written and composed it himself. They have been dating for a while now.
5. Abigail Pande and Sanam Johar
During the finale episode on Nach Baliye 8, TV actor Abigail Pande went down on her knee to propose to her dancer beau Sanam Johar and took everyone on the sets, including Sanam, by surprise. While Sanam was stunned by the overly sweet gesture of his partner, judge Sonakshi Sinha too could not stop herself from congratulating the couple.
6. Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande
Sushant Singh Rajput proposed to his lady-love on national television on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa during the Valentine’s Special episode. The couple who had a live-in relationship for the last six years have now called off their relationship.
7. Rakhi Sawant and Elesh Parujanwala
A lot of eyebrows were raised when Rakhi called off her engagement to NRI Elesh Parujanwala, who she had chosen on the show. Be it slapping her ex, Abhishek Awasthi, on national television, or finding a life partner on TV, the lady has done it all. However, after announcing to tie the knot on national television with the winner of her show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar, the item girl took a big U-turn on her D-day and ended up only getting engaged to the winner Elesh Parujanwala with a murky revenge story that followed from her beau’s end.
8. Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Ganguli
Dimpy came into limelight when she took part in a television show called Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega where Rahul chose her as his life partner. The two got married in 2010. However, trouble started brewing immediately with Dimpy filing a case against Rahul for domestic violence. The two separated in 2014, but remain to be on cordial terms. She then married her childhood crush Rohit Roy in 2015.
9. Mahek Chahal and Danish Khan
One of the big surprises during the Bigg Boss 5 finale was a marriage proposal for Mahek Chahal.
Mahek was taken aback, when her boyfriend Danish Khan proposed to her with a ring on stage.
Khan was Mahek’s childhood friend and boyfriend of four years. The two grew up and studied together in Norway.
10. Sara Khan and Ali Merchant
Actor Sara Khan was in the news in 2010 for her much-publicised reality show wedding with her then-boyfriend, Ali Merchant, on Bigg Boss Season 4. However, things turned sour soon after and the couple split two months post the wedding.
